BACKGROUND The management of cutaneous leishmaniasis with topical methods, if effective, can spare patients from long and costly inpatient treatments. METHODS Seventeen patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis were treated with cryosurgery using liquid nitrogen as the cryogen.
