Copper (Cu) is an essential element whose localization within cells must be carefully controlled to avoid Cu-dependent redox cycling. Metallothioneins (MTs) are cysteine-rich metal-binding proteins that exert cytoprotective effects during metal exposure and oxidative stress. The specific role of MTs, however, in modulating Cu-dependent redox cycling remains… (More)
This work studies utilization of shared caches by applications running concurrently on different cores of multicore systems. Knowledge about program contention due to shared resources is important for various design problems concerning multicore architectures. It is needed for power estimation, scheduling of parallel applications and design of shared… (More)
We studied the effects of nanodispersed ceria on wound healing in vitro and in vivo. It was found that cerium dioxide stimulated wound healing, which manifested in shrinkage of burn wound area (by 1.5 times) and intensification (by 2.4 times) marginal epithelialization.
