Wavefront characterization for orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes is demonstrated using quadrature phase-shift interference. The phase fronts and intensity profiles of OAM(-2), OAM(-4), OAM(-6), and OAM(-8) are measured. Sweep-free Brillouin optical time-domain analysis (SF-BOTDA) promises fast and distributed sensing. Using multiple tone spacings, we experimentally demonstrate a new technique to extend the dynamic range of SF-BOTDA to practical values of 1GHz and more.
We present OAM mode distortion monitoring by using an interferometer with π/2 phase-shift to reconstruct the phase profile without any movement of instruments. Monitoring of distortion caused by misalignment and atmospheric turbulence are successfully demonstrated.
