Recent diet and breast cancer risk: the California Teachers Study (USA)
No evidence is provided that recent macro- or micronutrient composition of adult diet is likely to have a direct effect on breast cancer risk, and some reduction of alcohol consumption among those consuming more than one drink per day may be beneficial.
High breast cancer incidence rates among California teachers: results from the California Teachers Study (United States)
The CTS offers a rich resource for future studies of cancer risk and of women's health, in general, and although late age at first birth can explain a portion of the observed excess risk of breast cancer in this cohort, the unique risk factor profile of CTS members may account for much of their higher risk of Breast and selected other cancers.
Correlates of vitamin supplement use in the United States: data from the California Teachers Study cohort
Specific supplement users (with or without multivitamins) were more likely to use cancer screening tests, eat fruits and vegetables, and exercise than were multivitamin only users or non-users.

Validating California teachers study self-reports of recent hospitalization: comparison with California hospital discharge data.
The authors compared the accuracy and completeness of existing California hospital discharge data with self-reports of recent hospitalizations and surgeries from participants in the California Teachers Study to provide more accurate and complete morbidity data than does use of either source alone.

A number of reproductive and dietary correlates to smoking exposures that underscore the need to adjust for such factors in an analysis of smoking and breast cancer and potentially other disease entities are identified.
Non-natural phenolic amino acids Synthesis and application in peptide chemistry

E-cadherin expression, a favorable prognostic factor, is more common in Japanese intestinal-type gastric cancer not involving the gastroesophageal junction, and it is likely that treatments need to be individualized.
Spirolactones of tyrosine: synthesis and reaction with nucleophiles
Several quinonoidal spirolactones (1-oxaspiro[4,5]deca-6,9-diene-2,8-diones) 12 have been synthesized chemically or electrochemically by oxidation of the corresponding tyrosine phenols 3. The…
1 COX REGRESSION USING DIFFERENT TIME-SCALES
Using a time-on-study time-scale adjusting for age continuous in years produced a slight overestimate of the alcohol effect compared with the more accurate but computationally more intensive age time- Scale methods.
