It is reported that HPP+ also is toxic to dopaminergic and serotonergic neurons in cultures of embryonic mesencephalic cells, as measured by loss of the ability of exposed cells to accumulate tritium-labeled dopamine and serotonin and by immunochemical staining techniques.
