In this study, a test for determining biotinidase activity among the Iranian population and report BTD mutations is set up and 8 BTD patients out of 47 cases with neurologic signs are identified.

Results from this study showed that fasting during Ramadan deteriorated the glycemic control in Type 2 diabetes patients, more evident in patients using oral hypoglycemic medication than diet- controlled patients, and Ramadan fasting had small positive effects on lipid profile and body weight.
