- Biology, MedicineBlood
- 1994
The correlation between isotypes of antibodies produced against the 48-kD epitopes, clinical protection, and the ability of specific anti-MSP-3 antibodies to block the parasite schizogony in the ADCI assay suggests that this molecule is involved in eliciting protective mechanisms.
Molecular cloning and sequence analysis of bovine lactotransferrin.

- Biology, MedicineEuropean Journal of Biochemistry
- 1 February 1991
The screening of a bovine submaxillary gland cDNA library yielded 25 clones coding for Bovine lactotransferrin, and the identity of the clone was confirmed by matching the amino acid sequence predicted from the cDNA with the N-terminal and tryptic peptide sequences derived from purified bovines milk lactotranferrin.
Calciseptine, a peptide isolated from black mamba venom, is a specific blocker of the L-type calcium channel.
- J. D. de Weille, H. Schweitz, P. Maes, A. Tartar, M. Lazdunski
- Biology, ChemistryProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences…
- 15 March 1991
The venom of the black mamba contains a 60-amino acid peptide called calciseptine, which is the only natural polypeptide that has been shown to be a specific inhibitor of L-type Ca2+ channels.
Replicative and cytopathic potential of HTLV-III/LAV with sor gene deletions.
- J. Sodroski, W. Goh, W. Haseltine
- BiologyScience
- 28 March 1986
The genome of the human T-lymphotropic virus type III (HTLV-III/LAV) has the potential to encode at least three polypeptides in addition to those encoded by the gag, pol, and env genes, and in this study the product of the sor (short open reading frame) region was found to be a protein with a molecular weight of 23,000.
The neurotrophic factor neuroleukin is 90% homologous with phosphohexose isomerase
- Mariella Chaput, V. Claes, A. Tartar
- BiologyNature
- 31 March 1988
Molecular clones of NLK have been expressed in monkey COS cells and the product was shown to have the same biological and biochemical properties as the extracted protein, and its amino-acid sequence is 90% homologous to the sequence of mouse neuroleukin.
