TGF-beta contributes to the shift toward Th2-type responses through direct and IL-10-mediated pathways in tumor-bearing mice.
It is concluded that TGF-beta drives the shift in the Th1/Th2 balance toward Th2 via IL-10-mediated development of the Th2 responses and via inhibition of theTh1-type responses directly in EL4-bearing mice.

A new larvicidal antibiotic, aculeximycin, was found in the culture broth of an actinomycete identified as Streptosporangium albidum and exhibited strong larv suicidal activity against mosquito larvae as well as antimicrobial activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, yeasts and molds.

The structure elucidation revealed that LSNs A, B and C belong to the phoslactomycin group antibiotics, and their structures contain an alpha,beta-unsaturated delta-lactone, an amino group, a phosphate ester and a cyclohexane ring moiety.
