All isolates tested for antibiotic sensitivity were susceptible to methicillin, vancomycin, chloramphenicol and ciprofloxacin, and impacts and dynamics of genetic antibiotic determinants should also be investigated using molecular methods.

Concentrations of AFM1 in milk from Shahr-e Kord were significantly lower (P ≤ 0.05) than those from Esfahan but differences between AFM 1 concentrations of spring and summer samples were not significantly different.

Investigation of the cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) content of several commercially available brands of rice grains in central Iran indicated that weekly intake of Cd and Pb from rice grains was below the provisional tolerable weekly intakes recommended by WHO/FAO.

It can be concluded that the high occurrence of AFM1 in cheese is probably due to the presence of aflatoxin in the feed and cheese milk and should be considered as a probable hazard for human health.
