A Macro for Converting Mean Separation Output to Letter Groupings in PROC MIXED
- A. Saxton
A macro, PDMIX612, is described, which takes a set of probability values for testing all pairwise differences among means, and converts this information to letter groups, where means with a common letter are not statistically different at a specified alpha level.
Estimation of nutrient requirements using broken-line regression analysis.
Various broken-line regression models and SAS procedures for estimating nutrient requirements from nutrient dose response data and the best fit was achieved using SAS NLMixed and the quadratic model with a random component for asymptote included in the model.
Quantitative Trait Loci for Seed Protein and Oil Concentration, and Seed Size in Soybean
The objective of this study was to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) governing soybean protein, oil and seed size and to identify major loci for improving soybean seed quality.
Seed quality QTL in a prominent soybean population
The QTL found in this study may assist breeders in marker-assisted selection (MAS) to retain current positive QTL in modern soybeans while simultaneously pyramiding additional QTL from new germplasm.
Influence of subclinical mastitis during early lactation on reproductive parameters.
- F. Schrick, M. Hockett, A. Saxton, M. Lewis, H. H. Dowlen, S. Oliver
- MedicineJournal of dairy science
- 1 June 2001
Subclinical mastitis reduced reproductive performance of lactating cows similar to clinical mastitis, and resulted in the most severe loss in reproductive performance.
Diversity and Characterization of Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria in Groundwater at a Uranium Mill Tailings Site

The distribution of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) in contaminated groundwater associated with a uranium mill tailings disposal site at Shiprock, N.Mex.
Association of CXCR2 polymorphisms with subclinical and clinical mastitis in dairy cattle.
- S. M. Youngerman, A. Saxton, S. Oliver, G. Pighetti
- Biology, MedicineJournal of Dairy Science
- 1 August 2004
The approach of genetically identifying mastitis resistant cows may represent an effective means of marker-assisted selection for mastitis and other inflammatory diseases involving neutrophils.
Genomic Regions Associated with Amino Acid Composition in Soybean
QTL detected for amino acids in soybean in this experiment are expected to be useful for future breeding programs targeting development of improved soybean amino acid composition for human and animal nutrition.
Evaluation of diet as a cause of gastric ulcers in horses.
Concentrations of acetic, propionic, and isovaleric acid were significantly higher in gastric juice, and number and severity of nonglandular squamous gastric lesions were significantly lower in horses fed alfalfa hay-grain, whereas valeric acid concentrations and butyric acid were useful in predicting severity of those lesions in Horses fed bromegrass hay.
Moisture retention properties of a mycorrhizal soil
The water relations of arbuscular mycorrhizal plants have been compared often, but virtually nothing is known about the comparative water relations of mycorrhizal and nonmycorrhizal soils.…
