Pathology of human African trypanosomiasis with reference to experimental African trypanosomiasis and infections of the central nervous system.
- A. Poltera
- Biology, MedicineBritish medical bulletin
Les trypanosomes avec leur variation antigenique ont des preferences topographiques a l'interieur de l'hote and a l’interieurs d’organes particuliers a la multiplication.
Trypanosoma brucei brucei: a model for cerebral trypanosomiasis in mice--an immunological, histological and electronmicroscopic study.

Observations suggest a sequential involvement of brain structures during African trypanosomiasis, which may first migrate from the vascular compartment into the interstitium of the choroid plexus, possible favoured by increased vascular permeability.
Effect of iron chelation therapy on mortality in Zambian children with cerebral malaria.
Thrombogenic intracranial vasculitis in tuberculous meningitis. A 20 year "post mortem" survey.

- MedicineActa neurologica Belgica
The pathological features of twenty-three cases of tuberculous meningitis, examined over a twenty year period are reported and possible consequences of this vasculitis are mentioned.

The administration of triclabendazole with food is recommended for improved systemic availability in patients with fascioliasis or paragonimiasis and a large availability increase with food and the strong systemic predominance of the active sulphoxide metabolite over the unchanged drug.
Subvalvular left ventricular aneurysms. A report of 5 Ugandan cases.
The pathological features of 5 cases of subvalvular cardiac aneurysms occurring in Uganda over a 13-year period are described; 3 were subaortic and 2 were submitral. One of the latter was atypical in…
SINGLE TREATMENT OF INVASIVE FASCIOLIASIS WITH TRICLABENDAZOLE
A model for cardiopathy induced by Trypanosoma brucei brucei in mice. A histologic and immunopathologic study.
The successful induction of pancarditis in mice by the use of Trypanosoma Brucei brucei is reported, and the persistence of trypanosomes in the tissues when circulating parasites were no longer detectable may account for relapses.
Pathological aspects of human African trypanosomiasis (HAT) in Uganda
The pathological features of 14 cases of human African trypanosomiasis occurring in Uganda over an 8 year period are described and some of the present findings are compared with some of those recorded in human American trypanOSomiasis and experimental AfricantrypanosOMiasis.
