- C. Liaskos, Shuai Nie, A. Tsioliaridou, A. Pitsillides, S. Ioannidis, I. Akyildiz
- Computer ScienceIEEE Communications Magazine
- 4 June 2018
This article proposes a radically different approach, enabling deterministic, programmable control over the behavior of wireless environments, using the so-called HyperSurface tile, a novel class of planar meta-materials that can interact with impinging electromagnetic waves in a controlled manner.

- A. Pitsillides, Petros A. Ioannou, M. Lestas, L. Rossides
- Computer ScienceIEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking
- 1 February 2005
This paper developed and analyzed a generic Integrated Dynamic Congestion Control scheme for controlling traffic using information on the status of each queue in the network, and uses OPNET simulations to demonstrate that the proposed control methodology achieves the desired behavior of the network.

- A. Kamilaris, A. Pitsillides
- Computer ScienceIEEE Internet of Things Journal
- 16 August 2016
This paper serves as a survey of the most significant work performed in the area of mobile phone computing combined with the IoT/WoT, and a selection of over 100 papers is presented, which constitute the mostsignificant work in the field up to date.
Congestion control for differentiated-services using non-linear control theory
- A. Pitsillides, L. Rossides, Petros A. Ioannou
- Computer ScienceProceedings. Sixth IEEE Symposium on Computers…
- 3 July 2001
A generic integrated dynamic congestion control scheme for controlling traffic using information on the status of each queue in the network, based on a nonlinear model of the network that is generated using fluid flow considerations is developed and analysed.
Effective Control of Traffic Flow in ATM Networks Using Fuzzy Explicit Rate Marking. (FERM)
- A. Pitsillides, Y. Sekercioglu, G. Ramamurthy
- Computer ScienceIEEE J. Sel. Areas Commun.
- 1 February 1997
The experiments show that FERM exhibits a robust behavior, even under extreme network loading conditions, and ensures fair share of the bandwidth for all virtual channels (VCs) regardless of the number of hops they traverse, and controls congestion substantially better than EPRCA.
HomeWeb: An application framework for Web-based smart homes
- A. Kamilaris, V. Trifa, A. Pitsillides
- Computer ScienceInternational Conference on Telecommunications
- 8 May 2011
The functionality of this system is improved by including a 6LoWPAN-based wireless sensor network inside the home environment, addressing issues such as device discovery and service description, and the benefits of directly Web-enabling embedded sensors in terms of performance and energy conservation are shown.
