- P. Miloslavich, J. Cruz‐Motta, A. Peralta
- Environmental SciencePLoS ONE
- 13 August 2013
This work represents the first effort to sample gastropod biodiversity on rocky shores using a standardized protocol across a wide scale and will generate more work to build global databases allowing for large-scale diversity comparisons of rocky intertidal assemblages.

The main challenges of OBIS will be in mobilizing and organizing the scientific community to publish richer and high quality data more rapidly in support of developing robust and timely indicators of status and change on Essential Ocean Variables and Essential Biodiversity Variables.
Combined effects of predator cues and competition define habitat choice and food consumption of amphipod mesograzers
- J. Beermann, K. Boos, L. Gutow, M. Boersma, A. Peralta
- Environmental ScienceOecologia
- 15 January 2018
The performance of E. marinus is apparently driven by trait-mediated direct and indirect effects caused by the interplay of predator avoidance and competition, highlighting the importance of potential non-consumptive impacts of predators on their prey organisms.

Combined effects of predator cues and competition define habitat choice and food consumption of amphipod mesograzers
- J. Beermann, K. Boos, L. Gutow, M. Boersma, A. Peralta
- Environmental ScienceOecologia
- 15 January 2018
Predation has direct impact on prey populations by reducing prey abundance. In addition, predator presence alone can also have non-consumptive effects on prey species, potentially influencing their…
