- M. O. Gonzaga, J. F. Sobczak, A. Penteado-Dias, W. Eberhard
- Biology

A possible spider defence (molting) against polysphinctine parasitisation is documented, and it is shown that the alterations induced by H. bicolor make the webs more resistant to destruction.

The occurrence in Brazil of Tetrastichus howardi (Olliff) parasitizing pupae of D. saccharalis obtained from corn plants opens a new perspective on suppression of the sugarcane borer, considering the promising results already obtained in Asian countries.

Doryctobracon areolatus was the most frequent, parasitizing the highest number of fly species, and showing the highest parasitism percentage in larvae feeding on Micropholis williamii fruits, which are new records for the Brazilian Amazon region.
