The Pathology of Devil Facial Tumor Disease (DFTD) in Tasmanian Devils (Sarcophilus harrisii)
The results indicate DFTD to be an undifferentiated soft tissue neoplasm.

DFTD cells were negative for amyloid and stained negatively with Singh's silver but were weakly argyrophilic (3/40) using Grimelius histochemical stain, which are consistent with cells of neuroectodermal origin.
Molecular and Biological Characterization of a Cryptosporidium molnari-Like Isolate from a Guppy (Poecilia reticulata)
Histological, morphological, genetic, and phylogenetic analyses of a Cryptosporidium molnari-like isolate from a guppy identified stages consistent with those of C. molnaris and revealed that C.molnari is genetically very distinct from all other species of Cryptospora.
A Novel Virus Detected in Papillomas and Carcinomas of the Endangered Western Barred Bandicoot (Perameles bougainville) Exhibits Genomic Features of both the Papillomaviridae and Polyomaviridae
A novel virus is detected in lesional tissue from affected western barred bandicoots using multiply primed rolling-circle amplification and PCR with the cutaneotropic papillomavirus primer pairs FAP59/FAP64 and AR-L1F8/AR-L 1R9, and this virus may represent the first member of a novel virus family descended from a common ancestor of the papillsomaviruses and polyomviruses recognized today.
Cryptosporidium huwi n. sp. (Apicomplexa: Eimeriidae) from the guppy (Poecilia reticulata).
Remission of histiocytic ulcerative colitis in Boxer dogs correlates with eradication of invasive intramucosal Escherichia coli.
- C. Mansfield, F. James, K. Simpson
- Biology, MedicineJournal of veterinary internal medicine
- 1 September 2009
The correlation between clinical remission and the eradication of mucosally invasive E. coli during treatment with enrofloxacin supports the causal involvement of E. bacteria in the development of HUC in susceptible Boxer dogs.
Successful management of histiocytic ulcerative colitis with enrofloxacin in two Boxer dogs.
Two Boxer dogs with histologically confirmed histiocytic ulcerative colitis were treated with enrofloxacin, one as sole therapy and one in conjunction with prednisolone, after failure of standard…
Association between canine pancreatic-specific lipase and histologic exocrine pancreatic inflammation in dogs
- C. Mansfield, G. Anderson, A. O'hara
- Medicine, BiologyJournal of veterinary diagnostic investigation…
- 1 February 2012
Canine pancreatic-specific lipase concentration has good specificity overall in dogs without pancreatitis but is less useful in dogs with milder pancreatitis, and both false-positive and false-negative results occur.
Lymphangiosarcoma in two cats
Granulosa cell tumour in two speyed bitches.
In cases of granulosa cell tumour in previously speyed bitches, with no evidence of metastases, tumour resection should be curative and Ovaries should be double-checked at the initial ovariohysterectomy to ensure all normal ovarian tissue has been excised.
