Revision of the subgenus Diphaomyia Vargas of Culicoides Latreille from India with description of a new species (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae).
One species, C. peculiaris has been removed from the subgenus Diphaomyia, the remaining species are freshly reviewed with description of a new one, Culicoides (DiphaomyIA) soleamaculatus sp.

Adults collected in the Duars of the Himalayas of West Bengal (India) belong to five genera of the Harnischia complex, and four species, Cryptochironomus acuminatus, C. gracilis, Harnishia minuta and Paracladopelma diutinistyla are described as new.
