Poland health system review.
The overall financial efficiency of the Polish system is satisfactory, but there is still a vast gap in life expectancy between Poland and the western European Union countries and between life expectancy overall and the expected number of years without illness or disability.
Flesh flies (Diptera: Sarcophagidae) colonising large carcasses in Central Europe
- K. Szpila, A. Mądra, Mateusz Jarmusz, S. Matuszewski
- Biology, Environmental ScienceParasitology Research
- 1 April 2015
The results contest the view that flesh flies colonise carcasses later than blowflies, and Sarcophaga caerulescens is designated as a good candidate for a broad forensic use in Central European cases.
Long-term study of pig carrion entomofauna.
Comments on the biology of Sciodrepoides watsoni watsoni (Spence, 1813) with descriptions of larvae and pupa (Coleoptera: Leiodidae: Cholevinae).
The late-instar larva of Sciodrepoides watsoni w Watsoni is redescribed and the egg, first and second instar and pupa are described for the first time and compared with other known larvae of Cholevinae.
X-ray microtomography applications for quantitative and qualitative analysis of porosity in woven glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic
Effect of body mass and clothing on carrion entomofauna
- S. Matuszewski, K. Frątczak, A. Mądra
- Biology, MedicineInternational Journal of Legal Medicine
- 27 January 2015
It is demonstrated that carcass mass is a factor of crucial importance for carrion entomofauna, whereas the importance of clothing is small, and insect assemblages are more complex, abundant, and long-lasting on larger carcasses, whereas clothing is of minor importance in this respect.
Morphology and identification of first instars of European and Mediterranean blowflies of forensic importance. Part III: Calliphorinae
An identification key to first‐instar larvae of the five European species of Calliphorinae of forensic importance is presented, however, it remains impossible to distinguish the first instars of Ca.
A clustering method for analysis of morphology of short natural fibers in composites based on X-ray microtomography
Consistent immersed volumetric Nitsche methods for composite analysis
Image‐based model reconstruction and meshing of woven reinforcements in composites
A method based on dual kriging is proposed to process X‐ray microtomographic scans of textile composites in order to construct a 3D representation of the fiber architecture with a regulated level of…
