Drought avoidance aspects and crop coefficients of Kentucky bluegrass and tall fescue turfs in the semiarid west
The conclusion is that, in Colorado, water can be conserved while maintaining acceptable turfgrass quality by irrigating these two turfs every 3 d by adjusting ET, provided that soil conditions are such that tall fescue can produce a deep root system.
Trinexapac-ethyl Increases Kentucky Bluegrass Leaf Cell Density and Chlorophyll Concentration
Two greenhouse experiments were conducted to determine if application of TE increased Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) leaf blade cell density, chlorophyll concentration, or structural carbohydrate content, and treatment with TE increased cell density andchlorophyll-b concentration, while reducing cell length, but structural carbohydrates content was unaffected.
Growth Responses of Lolium perenne L. to Trinexapac-ethyl
Multiple applications of trinexapac-ethyl to developing perennial ryegrass turfs may favor quicker establishment in terms of tillering, while substantially reducing mowing requirement.
Freezing Tolerance of Six Cultivars of Buffalograss

- Biology
- 1 July 2001
Field winter survival in 1998, 1999, and 2000 was generally in agreement with laboratory test results, showing that Stampede, 609, and UCR-95 were more susceptible to winterkill than 91-118 and Tatanka.
Kentucky Bluegrass Growth Responses to Trinexapac‐Ethyl, Traffic, and Nitrogen
The results suggest caution when using TE on highly trafficked Kentucky bluegrass, as quality was poorest at the three highest N-rates under TE and traffic during the last treatment cycle of 1997.

Relationships of Soluble Carbohydrates and Freeze Tolerance in Saltgrass

Results indicate that fructose, glucose, raffinose, and stachyose may play important roles in saltgrass freezing tolerance.
Trinexapac‐ethyl effects on kentucky bluegrass evapotranspiration
Possible ET reductions, coupled with reduced clipping production, indicate TE is an effective tool for managing numerous turfgrass systems.
Carbon Isotope Discrimination of Three Kentucky Bluegrass Cultivars with Contrasting Salinity Tolerance
- Y. Qian, R. Follett, S. Wilhelm, A. Koski, Mohamed Shahba
- Biology
- 1 March 2004
The great reduction in Δ of P105 as salinity increased suggests that salinity induced a greater degree of stomatal resistance that provided less opportunity for discrimination against the heavier isotope.
