Decolorization and biotransformation of triphenylmethane dye, methyl violet, by Aspergillus sp. isolated from Ladakh, India.
Nine N-demethylated decolorized products of methyl violet were identified based on UV-visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and LC-MS analyses, indicating a stepwise N- Demethylation in the decolorization process.
Characterization of Improved Sweet Sorghum Genotypes for Biochemical Parameters, Sugar Yield and Its Attributes at Different Phenological Stages
This study points to the potential scope for widening the harvesting window of sweet sorghum, by cutting the stalks from physiological maturity stage and beyond up to 15 days (post-physiological maturity), thus helping the commercial distilleries by addressing a major impediment in sweet sorGHum value chain.
Production of melanin pigment from Pseudomonas stutzeri isolated from red seaweed Hypnea musciformis
This is a first report on a marine Pseudomonas stutzeri strain producing significant amounts of melanin of about 6·7 g l−1 without L‐tyrosine supplementation in the sea‐water production medium.
Optimization of nitrilase production from Alcaligenes faecalis MTCC 10757 (IICT-A3): effect of inducers on substrate specificity
The versatile nitrilase-producing A. faecalis MTCC 10757 (IICT-A3) exhibits efficient conversion of both aliphatic and aromatic nitriles, which are in progress to exploit this organism for synthesis of industrially important compounds.
Investigation of the mechanism and apoptotic pathway induced by 4β cinnamido linked podophyllotoxins against human lung cancer cells A549
The mechanism underplaying the cytotoxic activity and apoptotic pathway induced by 4β-cinnamido linked podophyllotoxin conjugates was investigated and it was revealed that these compounds exhibited DNA topoisomerase IIα inhibition and induced mitochondrial mediated apoptosis.
Water mediated Heck and Ullmann couplings by supported palladium nanoparticles: importance of surface polarity of the carbon spheres
Heterogeneous palladium nanoparticle catalysts that are supported on amphiphilic carbon spheres (Pd@CSP) have been utilized for water-mediated Heck coupling reactions of aryl halides with different
Therapeutic potential of benzothiazoles: a patent review (2010 – 2014)
In the present review, the authors summarize inventions carried out towards the development of benzothiazole-based chemotherapeutic agents and provides an overview of the patents filed during 2010 – 2014 pertaining to the anticancer, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and other biological activities of benzothsiazole derivatives.
