Observations on the biology and ecology of the blue shark in the North‐east Atlantic

Of 159 blue sharks Prionace glauca examined from oceanic waters SW of Britain and Ireland, all but two males were immature, and stomach contents included cephalopods, fish, cetaceans, and to a lesser degree, birds and crustaceans.

Reproductive biology of the milk shark Rhizoprionodon acutus and the bigeye houndshark Iago omanensis in the coastal waters of Oman

The oviducal gland appeared to act as a seminal receptacle and it appeared that females may utilize these stores by not mating every year, although this species displayed a clearly defined reproductive cycle with parturition occurring primarily in spring.

Population genetics of four heavily exploited shark species around the Arabian Peninsula

The analysis indicates that, even in smaller, less vagile shark species, there are no contemporary barriers to gene flow across the study region, while historical events, for example, Pleistocene glacial cycles, may have affected connectivity in C. sorrah and R. acutus.
