Limnological effects of a large Amazonian run-of-river dam on the main river and drowned tributary valleys
TLDR
Evaluating the effects of the creation of the Santo Antônio dam on the water chemistry and thermal structure of the Madeira River mainstem and back-flooded valleys of tributaries within the reservoir inundated area finds biochemical oxygen demand, partial pressure of CO2, and organic carbon all increased in the tributary valleys inundated by the reservoir.
Aquatic macrophytes drive sediment stoichiometry and the suspended particulate organic carbon composition of a tropical coastal lagoon
OBJETIVO: O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar: (1) a influencia das macrofitas aquaticas Typha domingensis Pers., Eleocharis interstincta (Vahl) Roem. & Schult. (emergentes) e Potamogeton
PRECIPITATION DEFICITS AND HIGH TEMPERATURE INCREASE LEAF LITTERFALL IN OPEN RESTINGA VEGETATION, IN SOUTHERN BRAZIL
Climate is an important driver of litterfall along different ecosystems. However, little is known about how climate affects litter production in plant communities of Restinga. The aim of this study
The role played by aquatic macrophytes regarding CO2 balance in a tropical coastal lagoon (Cabiúnas Lagoon, Macaé, RJ)
AIM: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important atmospheric trace gas that is involved in both the biological carbon cycle and global warming. Inland waters - mainly lakes - contribute to C cycling and
