A new side-neck turtle (Pelomedusoides: Bothremydidae) from the Early Paleocene (Danian) Maria Farinha Formation, Paraíba Basin, Brazil.
Inaechelys pernambucensis is the first turtle species formally described from Brazilian Paleocene strata and also the first conclusively fully marine species described for this country, and contributes to the understanding of the ecology and paleobiogeographical distribution of Bothremydidae family.
