On the basis of evidence presented in this study, it is proposed that the four species in the L. fructosum subcluster, Leuconostoc durionis, Leurinostoc ficulneum, LeUconostOC fructOSum and Leu Conostoc pseudoficulneus, should be transferred to a novel genus, Fructobacillus gen. nov.
