Identification and analysis of expression of human VACM-1, a cullin gene family member located on chromosome 11q22-23.
The Hs-VACM-1 gene has homology with the Caenorhabditis elegans gene Ce-cul-5, a member of a family of cullin genes that are involved in cell cycle regulation and that might, when mutated, contribute to tumor progression.
Rapid determination of glutathione peroxidase and thioredoxin reductase activities using a 96-well microplate format: comparison to standard cuvette-based assays.
Assays for glutathione peroxidase and thioredoxin reductase modified to work in a 96-well format that incorporates light pathlength determinations into the assays are described, allowing the rapid analysis of large numbers of samples without the need for expensive equipment.
Disposition of mitochondrially bound hexokinase at the membrane surface, deduced from reactivity with monoclonal antibodies recognizing epitopes of defined location.

The random systematic mutagenesis methodology described should be generally useful for the rapid transplantation of foreign sequences into viral coat and other proteins to produce libraries containing members with the desired properties.

Escherichia coli-induced activation of HUC not only promotes migration of fibroblasts but also triggers matrix remodeling in human uroepithelial cells.
Structure of poliovirus type 2 Lansing complexed with antiviral agent SCH48973: comparison of the structural and biological properties of three poliovirus serotypes.
HEMATOZOA OF THE ANATIDAE OF THE ATLANTIC FLYWAY. II. THE MARITIME PROVINCES OF CANADA
Black ducks (Anas rubripes) were the most heavily infected of the 14 species of waterfowl sampled and possibly hematozoa may act as a limiting factor on populations of this duck.
Construction of a transcription map around the gene for ataxia telangiectasia: identification of at least four novel genes.
The YAC, PAC, and cosmid contigs in the ataxia-telangiectasia gene region are constructed and used to isolate expressed sequences by exon trapping and hybridization selection to identify large novel genes expressed in a variety of different tissues.
Aggregation of parasitoids and density‐independence of parasitism in field populations of the wasp Aphytis melinus and its host, the red scale Aonidiella aurantii
Suggestions based on some host‐parasitoid models, that aggregations of parasite attack in areas of high host density are necessary for effective biological control, are rejected and the model of Hassell (1982) seems to fit the data quite well.
