Poisoning of wild geese by carbophenothion-treated winter wheat
- G. A. Hamilton, K. Hunter, A. S. Ritchie, A. D. Ruthven, P. M. Brown, P. Stanley
- Biology
- 1 April 1976
It was concluded that the geese had died from carbophenothion poisoning following the ingestion of treated winter wheat seed and the factors that led to the incidents are discussed.
Control of potato gangrene by fumigation of tubers with 2-aminobutane after periods of storage
- D. C. Graham, G. A. Hamilton, C. E. Quinn, A. D. Ruthven
- BiologyPotato Research
- 1 September 1975
It is suggested that the poorer gangrene control given by fumigation after storage resulted from lower absorption and poorer skin penetration by the 2-aminobutane.
Inhibition of brain acetylcholinesterase activity in songbirds exposed to fenitrothion during aerial spraying of forests
- G. A. Hamilton, K. Hunter, A. D. Ruthven
- Environmental Science, BiologyBulletin of Environmental Contamination and…
- 1 July 1981
In 1979 and 1980 further areas of forest were sprayed with fenitrothion using the ULV technique and on both occasions sampZes of various avian species were taken to determine any effect on brain acetylcholinesterase (ACHE) activity and provide further information on the distribution of fen itrothion residues in the birds.

Effects of fungicides applied to seed potato tubers at harvest or after grading on fungal storage diseases and plant development
- S. Carnegie, A. D. Ruthven, D. Lindsay, T. D. Hall
- Biology
- 1 February 1990
Although 2–aminobutane applications at harvest or after grading were equally effective in controlling gangrene, thiabendazole and the mixture were less effective after grading where gangrene was prevalent in a stock.
The integration of EWOD and SAW technologies for improved droplet manipulation and mixing
This paper details the first reported integration of two advanced digital microfluidic technologies where 100 µm silicon cubes are transported with ElectroWetting On Dielectric (EWOD) and the droplet…
