On the systematic position of Collyricloides massanae Vaucher, 1969 (Platyhelminthes: Digenea) with notes on distribution of this trematode species
TLDR
It is accepted that C. massanae appears among the Pleurogenidae, forming a clade with Gyrabascus amphoraeformis (Modlinger, 1930) and Cortrema magnicaudata (Bykhovskaya-Pavlovskaya, 1950) and the commonly accepted placement of Collyricloides as the sister genus to C Mollyriclum within the Collyiclidae is rejected. Upregulation of LENK and VIP in paracervical ganglion neurons supplying the urinary bladder of tetrodotoxin- and resiniferatoxin-treated female pigs.
TLDR
Both neurotoxins affect the chemical coding of PCG nervous cells supplying the porcine urinary bladder and that they stimulate both LENK and VIP expression, indicating a possible involvement of LENk and VIP neurons in the mechanisms of action of RTX and TTX in the therapy of overactive bladder disorder. Galanin is Co‐Expressed with Substance P, Calbindin and Corticotropin‐Releasing Factor (CRF) in The Enteric Nervous System of the Wild Boar (Sus scrofa) Small Intestine
TLDR
Results strongly suggest that galanin participates in neuronal control of the wild boar small intestine also by functional co‐operation with other biologically active neuropeptides. Expand
Blood Parasite Infestation and the Leukocyte Profiles in Adult and Immature Reed Warblers (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) and Sedge Warblers (Acrocephalus schoenobaenus) During Autumn Migration
TLDR
Using blood smears, this work investigated how leukocyte profiles in reed warblers and sedge warblers vary in relation to the heamoparasite presence with respect to the host's age and sex and found a significant relationship between the leukocytes profiles and parasite infection. Expand
Genetic characterization of coagulase-positive staphylococci isolated from healthy pigeons.
TLDR
Indistinguishable or very similar PFGE patterns observed among S. delphini group B isolates from domestic and feral pigeons confirm the possibility of CoPS transmission between these birds. Expand
Immunoreactivity to galanin in the small intestine of wild boars.
TLDR
Whether and to what extend galanin is expressed in enteric neurons and nerve fibers supplying distinct regions of the wild boar small intestine (duodenum, jejunum, ileum) is evaluated using immunohistochemical methods. Expand
Expression of corticotropin releasing factor (CRF) in the enteric nervous system of the jejunum of sheep.
TLDR
In this study, immunohistochemisty was applied to demonstrate the presence of CRF in the jejunum of sheep and the co-localization ofCRF with vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), galanin, tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), neuropeptide Y (NPY) and substance P (SP) was evaluated. Expand
The first visually-guided bronchoscopy in European bison (Bison bonasus) – An additional tool in the diagnosis of bovine tuberculosis?
TLDR
First ante mortem tuberculous abnormalities demonstrated in European bison are demonstrated and Bronchoscopy is better for assessing tuberculosis severity than for diagnosis. Expand
