White matter lesions are more common in women with prior pregnancies complicated by preeeclampsia or eClampsia compared with parous women in a control group, and in no group does regional white matter lesion distribution correspond to the occipitoparietal edema distribution seen in posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome.

In patients with threatened preterm labor, nifedipine-maintained tocolysis did not result in a statistically significant reduction in adverse perinatal outcomes when compared with placebo, and its use for maintenance to colysis does not appear beneficial at this time.

A compensatory upregulation of placental DDAH activity is absent in patientssuffering from PE and levels of ADMA in plasma and placenta are normal in patients suffering from PE, but when the course of PE deteriorates and organ dysfunction becomes involved, ADMA levels increase.
