Three new genera and 18 ne\\' species of Syringophilidae (Acari: Prostigmata) are described, collected from the quills of birds belonging to seven different orders and II familic's of birds.
A revision of the Hemicheyletia generic group (Acari: Cheyletidae)

The phylogeny of the Hemicheyletia generic group was reconstructed by a cladistie method using the software PAUP 3.1, showed that these taxa form a monophyletic group and revealed that the genus Tutacheyia is a sister group of Hemie Heyletia-Cheletomimus.

The reconstruction of the phylogeny of the mite family Cheyletidae was effectuated by a cladistic method with the software PAUP 3.1 and a new hypothesis on the phylogenetic evolution of the cheyletids and an analysis of their host-parasite associations are proposed.

Five new species and two new genera belonging to the family Syringophilidae are described from birds that died in the Antwerp Zoo during their quarantine, including Charadriaulobia vanelli, which differs from the closely related Aulobia Kethley, 1970, in both sexes.
