Mapping binding residues in the Plasmodium vivax domain that binds Duffy antigen during red cell invasion
Using surface plasmon resonance, it is shown that binding of PvRII to DARC is a high‐affinity interaction with a binding constant (KD) of 8.7 nM, suggesting that hydrophobic interactions play a major role in the interaction of PvDBP with DARC.
Structural and functional dissection of the adhesive domains of Plasmodium falciparum thrombospondin-related anonymous protein (TRAP).
The studies suggest that TRAP interacts with multiple receptors during the hepatocyte invasion process, paving the way for inclusion of these high-quality recombinant TRAP domains in subunit-based vaccines against malaria.
Arbuscular mycorrhizae and phosphate solubilising bacteria of the rhizosphere of the mangrove ecosystem of Great Nicobar island, India
The rhizosphere of the mangrove plants of Great Nicobar was investigated for the presence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (AMF) and phosphate solubilising bacteria (PSB) and it was found that AMF may be aiding in AMF survival by providing oxygen and PSB may play a role in theMangrove ecosystems of GreatNicobar by mobilising insoluble phosphate.
Indian Monsoon Variability at Different Time Scales: Marine and Terrestrial Proxy Records
Here, we present a review of the work done in India during 2007-2011 on various proxy records of monsoon variability preserved in the marine (Central Indian Basin, western, northern and eastern
Cloning and expression of α-amylase in E. coli: genesis of a superior biocatalyst for substrate-specific MFC
ABSTRACTOne of the most practical approaches for establishing a successful microbial fuel cell (MFC) is to fasten the oxidation rate of the substrate by the microorganisms to get quick paced electr...
