We investigated the possibility of a solid-state 946 nm Nd:YAG laser with high peak and average power with target parameters: 70 mJ, 50 Hz development. For Q-switching we applied the electro-optical modulator, based on RKTP. In this paper we report about the enhancing of system efficiency and output energy.
End pumped Nd:YAG ring laser with electro-optical Q-switcher was built. Pumping of each laser rod is provided by 45 Watt laser diode module coupled in high-brightness fiber. Single-frequency and unidirectional performance of laser is provided with injection seeding. End overheating of active rod was reduced by using low-concentration active medium.… (More)
The study was to develop high-power stable Nd:YAG master oscillator for MOPA laser system. Output power of 4.5 W was achieved with 30 W of pump power for wide range of Q-switched lasing repetition rate. 15mJ@300Hz lasing of 10 ns pulses was achieved after optimization.
The stable Nd:YAG laser with 12mJ@100Hz and M<sup>2</sup><;1.2 was designed. RMS fluctuation of pulse energy was less than 1%. Pulse shape was set by unloads Cr<sup>4+</sup>:YAG polarizing output alignment. For pulse duration tuning the Cr<sup>4+</sup>:YAG orientation was used. The optical-to-optical efficiency of 14% was achieved.
