Taxonomic Study of the Subfamily Anthonominae from Japan (Coleoptera, Curculionidae)
The subfamily Anthonominae applied in this study is equivalent to the tribe Anthonomini in a narrow sense as defined by Morimoto (1962) and Burke (1976) and a species is new to the fauna of Japan.
Systematics of the Flea Weevils of the Tribe Ramphini (Coleoptera, Curculionidae) from East Asia II. Phylogenetic Analysis and Higher Classification
New system of higher classification of this tribe is proposed on the hypothesis about the phylogenetic relationships of the genera and subgenera.
Two New Species of the Genus Ochyromera (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) from Japan
Two new species of the genus Ochyromera are described from Japan: 0. pieridis sp. n and 0. rectirostris sp. n. The former was captured on leaves of Pieris japonicus of the family Ericaceae, and the
On the Genera of the Oriental Baridinae (Coleoptera, Curculionidae)
The genera of the Baridinae in the Oriental region are briefly reviewed, 15 genera are newly described, two are newly synonymized, and one is transferred from this subfamily, and a key to 59 genera examined is given.
Systematics of the Flea Weevils of the Tribe Ramphini (Coleoptera, Curculionidae) from East Asia I. Descriptions of New Taxa and Distribution Data of Some Species
First part of the study on the tribe Ramphini from East Asia deals with weevils of the genera Sphaerorchestes gen. nov., Imachra, Synorchestes, Tachyerges, Hyporhynchaenus, Indodinorrhopalus, Rhyncaenus sensu nov. and some species of Orchestes from Japan based on the new system proposed, which is to be published in the continuation paper.
On the Systematic Position of the Genus Euphyllobiomorphus: an Adelognathous Weevil with Cylindrical Rostrum (Coleoptera, Curculionidae)
Euphyi’lobiomorphus is unique in its cylindrical rostrum, exposed maxillae and thin mandibles as in the Phanerognatha like an anthonomine weevil, whereas the mandibles have deciduous process and the
Curculionidae from Cheju Island, Korea, with Descriptions of Three New Species (Insecta, Coleoptera)
Collection of the family Curculionidae from Cheju Island, Korea made in 1990 under the Korea-Japan Co-operative Science Program comprises 57 species, in which 8 species are new to science and 17 species arenew to the fauna of Korea, which includes 3 new species given in this paper.
Study on the Tribe Ochyromerini (Coleoptera, Curculionidae) from East Asia I, Descriptions of New Species of the Genera Endaeus and Endaenidius
This is the first part of the authors' systematic study on the tribe Ochyromerini from East Asia with descriptions of 28 new species of the weevils in the genera Endaeus Schoenherr and Endaenidius Morimoto as follows.
Systqmatics and evolution of weevils of t,he genus Bagous Germar (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), III. Phylogenetic analysis of the species known from Japan
Phylogenetic analysis of members of Bagous known to occur in Japan was performed to produce an hypothesis about the phylogenetic relationships of the 17 species and relationships of species and groups of species as determined independently for species of each of these geographically separated faunas is corroborated.
